CDR duplication (audio or data)
Duplication is carried out by recording your supplied master disc or data to an image file on a hard disc, which is then verified against the original. This image file is then recorded with a laser, or 'burnt', to the final copies which are again verified against the image file. Only the highest quality A-grade discs are used (eg: Taiyo Yuden, TDK, Sony). Duplication is ideal for short runs (up to 500 units) where a quick turnaround is needed (24 hours is possible for most jobs) or for larger runs where there is not enough time for CD-Rom replication.

Blank CDRs can be ordered pre-printed for your own recording (see below for printing options).

12cm CDR (700MB), 8cm CDR (185MB), business card CDR (50MB).

source material
Audio recordings can be transferred from digital source material such as DAT, CD & MiniDisc, and analogue sources such as cassette. Audiofiles on disc in formats such as SDII, AIFF, QuickTime & WAV etc. are also acceptable as source material. The discs are PQ encoded, recorded in disc-at-once mode and are fully Red-Book compliant and therefore playable on any CD player. Only A-grade discs are used.
Data can be supplied as a finished master CD in any format (ISO 9660, Mac HFS, Hybrid, CD Extra etc.) or via Zip disk, email, ftp (please ask for details) or a number of CDs to be compiled into your chosen format. Using CD-RW or packet-written CDR discs as masters should be avoided.

printing & packaging
The standard option for CDR disc printing is thermal on-body printing in mono (black, blue, red or green) or high-resolution full colour. Screen-printing (for Pantone spot colours) and offset litho-printing are also available. The CDRs can be packed into clear plastic wallets or jewel cases (standard or slimline) with laser-printed or litho-printed paper-parts or supplied on spindle with no packaging. Replicated or 'pressed' discs are manufactured by moulding copies from a 'glass master' which is created from your original supplied master disc or data. The minimum run is 500 units and standard turnaround time is approximately 7 to 10 working days.

12cm CD-Rom (700MB), 8cm CD-Rom (185MB), business card CD-Rom (60MB)

DVD-5 (4.7GB), DVD-9 (8.5GB), DVD-10 (9.4GB), 8cm DVD (1.4GB), business card DVD (350MB)

source material
As well as DLT tapes, the following formats are acceptable as masters for replication:
DVD-5: DVD-R or DVD+R
DVD-9: Dual layer DVD+R (more reliable than dual layer DVD-R)
DVD-10: 2 DVD-Rs or 2 DVD+Rs
Data can also be supplied on CD or DVD for compilation. Video supplied in formats including VHS, DV, DV-Cam etc. for transfer to DVD or DLT will incur a setup charge.
